A Bit of Background on The Cattle

The farm that supplies our beef and pork cuts, White Oak Pastures, raises a line of cattle that dates back to 1866 and likely started with a breed called Cracker cattle or Pineywoods cattle - the only breed available in Georgia at that time. 


Through testing, it has been confirmed that over the years, after mixing breeds to create improved cattle, the following breeds have left their mark on the herd:

  • Black Angus

  • Herford

  • Brahman

  • Simmental

  • Red Angus

  • Charlotte

  • Akaushi

  • Shorthorn

  • Jersey

  • Santa Gertrudis

  • Beef Master

  • Senepol
    and others
